The Class A CDL tractor trailer driver training course consists of 160 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road driving experience. This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the trucking industry and meets transportation standards for individuals to enter the industry as an entry level professional driver. Course meets standards from the FMCSA Entry level Driver Training and is accredited through the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA). This course meets Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm for four consecutive weeks. Cost of tuition includes books, supplies, recruiters, job placement, DOT presentations, and ELDT certificate. Applicants enrolling in the School must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid drivers license, possess a valid DOT physical (can obtain first week of class), read, write and speak the english language, be able to obtain a commercial learners permit, and pass a DOT five panel drug screen. A high school diploma or GED is NOT required and applicants must also not have any disqualifying suspensions on their drivers license in the past three years. The deadlines to enroll in the class is Wednesday prior to the Monday's class start date. Often times classes fill up in advance so please call ahead to make sure there is availability.
Applicants going through this course are trained to be able to enter the trucking industry as an entry level professional driver. Careers in the transportation field include professional truck driver, straight truck driver, dump truck, bucket truck, school bus, plow truck, flatbed truck, propane truck, and tanker truck driver amongst many others. Many diesel mechanics, DNR fire fighters, electrical line-man, DOT personnel and others have to get their Class A CDL for employment as well.
Midwest Truck Driving School has many recruiters that come into the School that want to hire our students as soon as they graduate the program. These companies include over the road companies, regional companies, hazmat companies, local companies and others. We also have a job board that is updated weekly as well as one on one job placement services with our school administrator who is their to help students as needed.
As a part of tuition Midwest Truck Driving School offers tutoring to any individual that needs it. We understand some individuals need extra time and training and that is something offered to all of our students ensuring their success. This includes one on one time with a certified instructor during class days and when scheduled on nights and weekends.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
